1ClickReferral (the "App") is provided by World Choice Software LLC dba 1Click Labs ("we", "us"). The App helps Shopify merchants run customer referral programs. This policy explains how the App handles information about merchants, their customers, and people who use referral links.
We use this information to provide the referral program for the merchant: to create and manage Shopify discounts, show merchants referral activity, deliver program emails, and provide support. We also use it to keep the App secure, prevent misuse, fix errors, and avoid sending email to addresses that have bounced or reported spam. We don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to advertise to customers.
Referral links and codes can be shared by advocates with other people. To apply friend discounts and block self-referrals at checkout, the App stores advocate contact information with referral discounts in the merchant's Shopify store. If the merchant turns on referral code publishing, the App also saves each advocate's referral code to their customer record in the merchant's Shopify store.
The merchant is responsible for telling its customers how it uses the App and their information.
We share information with Shopify and service providers that host the App and its database, run background jobs, store logs, monitor errors, provide the App's support widget, and deliver email through Mailgun. The support widget receives the merchant's email address and store domain so we can answer support requests. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and the security of the App.
The App and its database are hosted in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. If a merchant or customer is in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another country, their information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We keep customer, referral, order-related, and program records while a store uses the App. When a merchant uninstalls the App, we delete the store's customer, referral, conversion, and email records from the App's database. When Shopify sends its shop redaction request, typically about 48 hours after uninstall, we remove the remaining merchant contact details and store-specific unsubscribe records. Limited store and subscription records without merchant contact details remain for billing purposes.
When Shopify sends a customer redaction request, we delete that customer's records from the App's database and queue removal of the copies the App stored in the merchant's Shopify store: advocate contact information on referral discounts and any published referral code. Failed requests are retried and reported for review. We also respond to Shopify customer data requests.
To avoid sending unwanted email, we keep a record of addresses that bounced or reported spam after the related customer or store data is deleted. These records store a one-way hash of the address rather than the address itself. Server logs and error reports are kept by our logging and error monitoring providers for a limited period under their retention settings.
Customers can ask the merchant about their referral data or contact us using the address below. We respond to access and deletion requests received through Shopify and can help with other requests to access, correct, or delete personal information. Marketing emails sent by the App include an unsubscribe option; unsubscribing does not stop transactional reward emails.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of your information in a portable format, and complain to your local data protection authority.
We may update this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. The date above shows when it was last updated.
